Dr. Herbert is a board-certified dermatologist who focuses on the detection and prevention of skin cancer. From optimizing skincare regimens to providing comprehensive skin examinations and treating pigmented lesions, she will make sure your skin looks its very best.
With our direct pay model, we offer transparent pricing, longer appointment times, and more personalized, comprehensive care.
Our patient-centered practice allows ample time for individual appointments – much longer than average. Dr. Herbert takes the time to get to know you as a person and understand your family medical history, and she’ll address all your concerns at once.
All medical appointments and medical procedures are performed by Dr. Herbert, not a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner. By building a richer relationship with you, she will recommend treatments and procedures that are aligned with your needs, health history, and lifestyle.
In late 2020, we stopped accepting health insurance and shifted to a time-based business model. Under this new model, we offer transparent and affordable pricing while circumventing the restrictions that health insurance companies place on medical practitioners.
Payment for all services is accepted at the time of your appointment.
FDL Dermatology is out-of-network for all insurance plans and is an OPT-OUT Medicare provider. Our office is direct pay; payment is due at the time of service. We offer affordable and transparent pricing with no hidden or additional charges after your visit.
At the time of your visit, we will ask for your insurance. If a biopsy is done or labs are drawn, the pathology lab and/or pathologist (which are not part of our practice) will submit a claim to your insurance so you can take full advantage of your medical benefits.
Same-day appointments are available and we are able to accommodate most patients within a week of their appointment request. If you can’t find an appointment online, please call us and we will do our best to fit you in. Keep in mind that we are open on some Saturdays and until 7 pm on select Thursdays.
Our appointments last longer than you might expect. A skin exam typically takes 30 minutes, and some appointments can last up to 60 minutes. You will always be seen by Dr. Courtney Herbert, a board-certified dermatologist.

We offer validated parking for up to 1 hour in the garage located within our building. Simply park in the garage, and bring your parking ticket with you to be validated during your visit.
